| Paul Jenkins introduces his right hand man Larry Peterson who has worked summers for Paul for the last 12 years. Paul asks Larry to explain how interested people are in taking care of the weeds. Larry chuckles and states that he thinks a lot of times people really don't understand the problems. Some people are really interested and some are not. He notes that a weed like Yellow Toadflax devastates an area, not only for livestock, but also for game animals like elk and deer. Animals move out of an area when a weed like this comes in because the feed is gone.
Paul also notes that Caribou County has an essay program in the schools to teach young people about weeds. They have a contest for the best weed essay for all the students in the 6th grade. The kids know what it takes to get rid of the weeds. This program has helped a lot.
