Black Henbane Flower Video

The flowers of Black Henbane are very distinct, notes Dave Hallinan talking to Roger Batt. Looking close they have purple veins, a purple center and the flower is lightish yellow on the outside. The mature plant will produce anywhere from 100 to 250 flowers. When it goes to seed it turns into a big woody stalk. The flowers turn into what looks like a little wooden bell. People like to use this in their flower arrangements. Roger replies that this is a good way for people to spread a noxious weed species.
