Bryan Dallolio asks Roger Batt to notice how many seed heads are on this single set of stalks of Russian Knapweed. Each one of these will have somewhere between 15 and 20 seeds inside of it and they pop open easily to disperse the seeds. If you look closely they have a tuft on them that helps them disperse in the wind. Roger has collected a bunch of the seeds in his hand from a head he just opened up. He notes that it is amazing how many of them there are. Bryan notes that some of the tufts break off and the seeds will drop straight to the ground. That is one way it reproduces itself. He also notes that others will keep a certain amount of that hair attached and they will blow around in the breeze or stick to animals. He points to an example and states, "more like this one."
