Comparison to Hoary Cress

Bryan Dallolio notes that Perennial Pepperweed is also called "tall whitetop." He notes that it spreads both vegetatively and by seeds. He also explains that this plant is a real problem with this state property ground which also has a riding trail nearby. He notes that before long this plant will be up to the withers on a horse. Roger Batt also notes that it is amazing how tall it gets and that virtually nothing grows in the shade underneath this weed. He also notes that Pepperweed is a huge problem as far as being an invader and the grasses nearby cannot compete with it. Bryan agrees and notes that these grasses are really hardy, but the Pepperweed here is winning.
