Bryan Dallolio points out the Poison Hemlock plant to Roger Batt. He states that it typically grows in moist wet areas here. It is a highly toxic plant. It is part of the carrot family and looks an awful lot like dill and wild carrot, but if you notice the purple spots on the stems, you'll know that you're looking at Poison Hemlock. He goes on to say that this is its first stage of growth. It is a biennial, and it will form a vegetative canopy and then next season it will shoot up the tall stalk and form it's seeds. It will feed out of its own tap root to produce those.
