Roger Batt comments that these are extremely healthy plants and some of the tallest Whitetop he has ever seen. He notes that there is not a biological control agent for this weed. He brings the plant he has pulled up close to the camera and notes how flawless and perfect these are. He goes on to say it would be really nice if there were a biological control to handle infestations such as this. Bryan Dallolio agrees that this would certainly be a place to use a bio agent because there is a moving waterway nearby. He also notes that if a herbicide is used it has to be used correctly, that it stays where you put it, and it does not have unintended consequences. Roger also states that a good thing about a biological control is that it works 24 hours a day. Bryan agrees that would be the optimum in this setting because this plant has developed its seeds and is about ready to shed them. He holds the seeds up close to the camera. Roger notes that this means there will be lots of growth for next year. Bryan states that these will not only reproduce by seeds but the root Roger is holding has rhizomes off it that will continue to put up new shoots next year, and maybe even this year.
