| Leonard Lake explains that they are standing just above Pittsburg Landing which is part of the National Recreation Area of the Snake River and at one time, prior to being a National Recreation Area, it was a working cattle ranch. They are probably in an area that had winter and spring grazing over time. Probably in the last 20-25 years, the focus and the emphasis in this area has changed from a cattle ranch to more of a recreation emphasis and it's one of the main portals to the entire Snake River Canyon. People come down here to hike and also to launch their jet boats on the Snake River and then move upstream for a recreation, wilderness experience. Back to Panorama
